Co-Creators
Chloe Shimmin
Chloë is a writer, theatre-maker, and creative practitioner specialising in participatory work with and for young people.
After graduating from the London College of Music, Chloë worked as an actor in London for seven years. The pandemic led her back to her childhood home on the Isle of Man, where she began focusing on writing and developing work for young audiences. This transition resulted in the creation of various theatre productions, participatory art projects, and community initiatives.
Now based between Glasgow and the Isle of Man, Chloë has produced work in diverse settings, including theatres, castles, farms, museums, natural environments, school halls, and communities. Her arts practice is playful and centers on giving young people a voice, often through co-creation. She aims to inspire and connect audiences to their surroundings—nature, place, and community.
Chloë has recently written for FISCHY’s 25th Anniversary Concert, performed at venues including Glasgow Concert Hall, Aberdeen Tivoli Theatre, and Edinburgh Queen’s Hall. Alongside this, she has worked on Plop in the Ocean - a playful and interactive theatrical adventure. For more details on her work, visit her portfolio at chloeshimmin.co.uk.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
Our Name
Born out of the pandemic, Hello Little People started its life on the Isle of Man in July 2020.
Our name “Hello Little People” is inspired by the magical ‘little people’ that are said to live on the Island. When you cross the Fairy Bridge, you must say ‘Hello’ to the ‘'little people’ or you’ll have bad luck.
Hello Little People is evolving to make theatre and develop projects that inspire young audiences nationally and internationally.
